  • Because I Lost My Voice

Today, with winds gusting up to 30mph in forty five degree weather at 9:00am, I ran my first 5k.
On top of this, around wednesday, I started developing allergy symptoms. By friday, I was full-blown disfunctionally ill from the (record-makingly) terrible pollen in my area.
I ran through it though. So it was no wonder, from all the huffing and puffing, that I lost my voice.
As of five minutes ago, completely.

How do I tell everybody that I ran my first 5k without the capacity to vocally communicate?!
(HINT: That's why I'm doing it here.)

    Hope everybody is doing well!

  • Ambitions

Buy a bike instead of a car.
    Heal my blood disorder.
Practice yoga three times a week.
    Meditate Daily.
Maintain the great relationships I have with my sisters.
Do the best I can to do the same with my parents.
Have a glass of red wine with a novel to unwind nightly.
Start painting again. Fill my walls with my creations.
Find a solid group of people to cook for.
    Maybe even hold dinner parties.
Learn more about wine, pair it well with these dinners.
Attend to my health. Make regularly appointments with a dentist, eye doctor, hematologist...
Stay physically fit. Don't get lazy. The bike will help.
Start finding internships that relate to the nutrition industry...
I've been thinking a lot about writing for "Self" magazine.
Meanwhile, do well in my new shift supervisor position.
    Kick ass.
Wear shape-ups to work to help stay in shape.
    Bake and cook without inhibition.
I'm curious about the people that invent recipes for chain restaurants. Maybe they're chain restaurants, but if the dishes were served with fresh ingredients and were made exclusively for one place, they'd have high status.
I'd like to be the person making these dishes.
    Maybe even a food stylist.
I'd really like to get my yoga certification and teach this summer.
I have plenty of connections to get a job, but the certification is so expensive.
    Anyway...
Start an herb garden, grow a few herbs that aren't common in typical cuisine.
    Force myself to use them.
Don't sleep past 9am. The sun is too beautiful... the earth is so peaceful.
Buy minimal materialistic needs... remember how broke I was when I was buying things I didn't need.
    Light more candles.
Learn self defense. Buy pepper spray. Just in case.
    Get my Tattoo.
    1
    Sport the Victoria Beckham (haircut).
Take care of my Dad. Show him what he's been missing...
Show the people I love how much I appreciate them.
Volunteer. Donate to charity. Run for causes.
Live beyond the realms of myself... Truly be in the moment...
It is a time for change, evolution, and new beginnings.
I want to face these, instead of fearing them.

That is the most ambitious thing of all...

  • Hello & Goodbye.

As I promised, I won't be posting on this blog too often. But I love xanga so much- just stopping by a few minutes of my day gives me some light-hearted reading material and helps me keep up with the people I've grown to love. I'll be around, lurking in the background and commenting every now and then. Maybe I'll post some interesting material as I find it. Otherwise, this could be the last time I publically post anything.
Here are some other ways to contact me:
    My Cooking Portfolio Tumblr
More intelligent musings on my livejournal
Facebook  (Please only add me here if you plan on getting to know me personally. I frequently filter through my friends and delete people I do not commonly communicate with.)
You can ask for my personal email if you would like it.
Thanks for a good run, everybody. See you soon! :)
